Description: annual plant, greenish erect, bare stems up to 80 cm tall. The leaves are up to 8 mm wide. The inflorescence is a linear greenish  panicle. The spikelets classics are narrow and oblong greenish-red in color. The fruit is grain.

Flowering time: May-July

Habitats: meadows, pastures, sunny areas

Interesting fact: along with Mediterranean oats grow in Croatia
